The True Essence of Reading the Quran

Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan (may Allah bless him) said:

People often read the Qur’an, make it a hatm (after reading it completely), learn it, read it with beautiful reading, concentrate their attention on the words of Qur’an, Tajuida, decrees related to madd, idgam, gunna, iklab, izhar, ihfa ( Ahkams Tajuida ), pay great attention to this, which in turn is commendable.

But this is not the more important thing and the true essence.
The real essence lies in thinking about the meanings of the Qur’an and understanding the book of Allah, evaluating our deeds and the deeds of people in accordance with the book of Allah : whether they correspond to the book of Allah or contradict it.
