The Month of Zul-Hijja is coming soon
Today is the 27th of Dhul-Qa’da 1443 AH, which is June 27 (2022).
Before the beginning of the month of Zul-Hijjah, there are a few days left.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “The year consists of twelve months, four of which are forbidden. Three of them – Dhul-Qa’da, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram – follow each other, and the fourth is Rajab Mudara, which takes its place between the months of Jumada Saniya and Sha’ban “
al-Bukhari, 3197
Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen (رَحِمَهُ الله) was asked :
In a few days we will meet the ten days of the month of Zul-Hijjah, what can you advise everyone? Please explain the dignity of these days and the things that are customary to do on them?
Answer: “The 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah begin with the onset of the month of Dhul-Hijjah and end with the day of the Feast of the Sacrifice.
And the deeds done in them, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said about this:
It is reported from the words of Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ” There are no good deeds beloved by Allah [and there is no greater reward] than for the good deeds performed in the first ten days of the month of Zul-Hijjah .” He was asked: “And even than diligence in the path of Allah ?!” He replied: “And even than diligence in the path of Allah, except for a person who went out in the path of Allah, risking his life and his property and not returning with any of this.”
al-Bukhari 2/162
Therefore, I encourage my Muslim brothers to take advantage of this great opportunity and increase these days the performance of righteous deeds, such as reading the Koran, various types of remembrance, such as takbir, tahlil, tahmid, tasbih, as well as alms, fasting and other righteous deeds.
And it’s amazing that people are careless about these ten days. You will notice that they are zealous in their affairs in the last ten days of Ramadan, but during the ten days of Dhul Hijja you will not see almost anyone who would distinguish these days from the rest.
But if a person does righteous deeds in these ten days, reviving those righteous deeds that the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointed out, then he will receive a great blessing.
If ten days have come and a person wants to make a sacrifice, then he should not remove anything from his hair, from his nails, from his body.
All this concerns the one who wishes to make a sacrifice himself, and as for the one for whom they will make a sacrifice, there is no problem to remove them. Thus, if a person wanted to make one sacrifice for himself and his family, which is sunnah, then the family is not obliged to restrain themselves from removing hair from the head and body, cutting nails. Because the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “ When the month of Zul-Hijja comes, the path of the one who wants to make a Sacrifice, in no case cuts his hair or nails until he makes a sacrifice! »Muslim, 1977.
Here the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) addressed the one who wishes to make a sacrifice.
But if they ask: If the one who wished to make a sacrifice goes on Hajj and performs death there, cuts his hair, but instructs his family to make a sacrifice, what to do in this case?
We will say that it does not hurt in any way, because cutting hair on the umrah is an obligatory rite, and there is no problem in cutting and removing hair on the hajj.
