The importance of purity of heart

“Cleansing of hearts ” is a necessary opportunity for every believer to cleanse his heart from the dirt of sins and doubts, unfounded and unreliable accretions .

The cleansing of hearts is a very important matter that should not be put off. Therefore, it is our duty to turn our attention to this matter.

It is people with a healthy and pure heart who will be safe on the Day of Judgment.

Allah Almighty said: “ On the day when neither wealth nor sons will benefit anyone except those who appear before Allah with a blameless heart ” (Sura “Poets”, verses 88-89).

Because prayer without a heart, there is no benefit from it and it leaves no traces!

And alms without a heart, there is no benefit from it and it leaves no traces!

And the remembrance of Allah is without a heart, there is no benefit from it and it leaves no traces!

And reading the Quran without a heart, there is no benefit from it and it leaves no traces!

And even a nightly prayer without a heart, there is no benefit from it and it leaves no traces!

As the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Verily, Allah does not look at your bodies or your appearance, ayat. However, He looks at your hearts and your deeds.”
Muslim 2564

Allah Almighty warns with a terrible promise the owners of callous hearts, saying:
“Woe to those whose hearts are callous to the remembrance of Allah! They are in obvious error.”
Sura al-Zumar 22

Shaykh Ibn Baz said:

The best instruction for healing hearts and for repelling the hardness of the heart is the advice to pay attention to the Holy Quran, meditate on it and read it a lot, as well as remember Allah often. Reading and meditating on the Holy Quran, as well as frequent remembrance of Allah and pronunciation: “SubhanAllah, walhamdulillah; wa la ilaha illa llah; wa Allahu Akbar; Subhanallahi wa bihamdih subhanallahi l’azim; la ilaha illa llah, wahdahu la shara llah lyahul mulku walyahul hamdu wahua ‘ala kulli shayin qadir; » all this means to eliminate the hardness of hearts.
See Majmu Fataawa Ibn Baz, 24/388.

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen said:

Among the causes of hardness of hearts are the following: turning away from Allah, and not reading the Qur’an; preoccupation with this world and concentration on it, not paying attention to questions of religion.

Indeed, submission to Allah softens the heart and returns to Allah. The cure is to return to Allah, often repent before Him, often recite the Qur’an, and perform acts of worship as much as possible.

See Fatawa Nur ala al-Darb, 12/171.

Ibn Taymiyyah said:
“ Verily, the heart dies in complete ignorance and becomes ill when something enters it out of ignorance.

The heart dies and becomes sick, revives and recovers. Life, death, illness and healing of the heart is more important than life, death, illness and healing of the body ”
