Post Reward

“Allah said in a hadith qudsi: Any deed of the son of Adam is done by him for himself, except for fasting. For, verily, it (fasting) is for My sake, and I will repay for it “…” al-Bukhari No. 1761, Muslim No. 19

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said : This great hadeeth points to the virtue of fasting in several ways. First. Allah singled out fasting from other types of worship and attributed it to Himself, since fasting is revered for Him, fasting is loved by Him. Sincerity (faith) in Him is manifested in fasting, since fasting is a secret between the servant of Allah and his Lord, no one but Allah sees it. A fasting person, being in a place free from people, has the opportunity to do what Allah forbade him during fasting, but does not do it. After all, the fasting person knows that even if he is away from people, Allah sees him. He, fearing Allah’s punishment and hoping for His reward, for the sake of the Lord leaves those forbidden to him during fasting (actions). In gratitude for this sincerity, Allah singled out fasting from other types of worship and attributed it to Himself. Therefore He said: ( man ) refuses the satisfaction of his desires and his food for My sake. The benefits of this special allocation ( fasting ) will be seen on the Day of Resurrection. As Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaina said, may Allah have mercy on him: “When the Day of Resurrection comes, Allah will reprimand His servant: for every injustice ( sin ) He will take ( the reward that the slave received ) for good deeds, until only fasting remains. (And then) Allah will take upon himself all the remaining sins and injustices and will enter him into Paradise through fasting.” Second. Allah, speaking of fasting, said: and I will reward it. He attributed the reward for him to Himself. The reward for a good deed is multiplied. The reward can ( increase by becoming ) tenfold, or it can increase to seven hundredfold and more ( size ). As for fasting, Allah attributed the reward for it to Himself and did not mention its size. Verily, Allah is the Most Generous of the Generous, and) a gift – from the greatness of the giver. Therefore, the reward for fasting will be very large, it will be incalculable. Fasting is a manifestation of patience in submission to Allah, a manifestation of patience in leaving the forbidden by Allah, a manifestation of patience during the difficulties predetermined by Allah: hunger, thirst, weakness of the body and spirit. During fasting, a person shows patience of three kinds, and this firmly indicates that a fasting person belongs to those who show patience. And Allah Almighty said : “Those who do good in this world are destined for good. The land of Allah is vast. Verily, to those who are patient, their reward will be rewarded completely without counting “ ( Sura” Az-Zumar “, verse 10)” Majalis Shahri Ramadan. S. 13.
