Parable from Allah Almighty
According to al-Nawwas ibn Sam’an (may Allah be pleased with him), it is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allah cited a parable about a straight path, on both sides of which walls were erected. These walls have open doors, and these doors have lowered curtains. At the beginning of this path, there is a crying person who says: “O people, follow all this straight path and do not turn anywhere!” There is also another caller above this path, and when someone wants to open the curtain of one of these doors, he says: “Woe to you! Do not open it, for truly, if you open it, you will definitely enter this door! ”- The straight path is Islam; – Curtains are the boundaries set by Allah; – Doors are what is forbidden by Allah; – The caller at the beginning of the path is the Koran; – And the one who calls over this path is an exhortator from Allah, at-Tirmidhi (2859) “al-Sahih al-Musnad” (1194).
Imam Sharafuddin at-Tybi, in his commentary on this hadith, said: “The Herald from Allah, who is in the heart of every believer, is the suggestion of an angel. As for another suggestion (arousing interest to look through various doors), this is the suggestion of the shaitan ”. See Sharh Mishkat al-Masabih (2/654).
