Order of the Prophet ﷺ how to behave during fitnah
Abdullah ibn ‘Amr narrated that one day the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who was sitting in the circle of his companions, mentioned fitnah and said: “When you see that people violate their agreements, they lost confidence and became like that” after which The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) intertwined his fingers. Then ‘Abdullah got up, approached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and asked: “What should I do at such a time?! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Stay in your house, keep your tongue, do what you know and leave what you blame. And stick to what is connected with you, leaving the affairs of all!
? Abu Dawud 4342. Authentic hadith
?Imam al-Munawi, in a commentary on one of the versions of this hadith, said: “Words:
▪️ When you see people i.e. when you get them.
▪️“whose contracts will come into disarray” i.e. they will be confused and confused, their religiosity and reliability (in the performance of their duties, before Allah and before people) will weaken.
◻️A contract is an oath, security, duty (responsibility), protection and care of what cannot be violated.
▪️ Lose reliability, loyalty – the opposite of betrayal.
▪️ After which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) intertwined his fingers, that is, people will mix up, and their religion will be confused, so that it will be impossible to distinguish the reliable from the traitor, the righteous from the wicked.
▪️ Stay in your home, i.e. Separate yourself from all people and hide from them, except when it is necessary.
▪️ hold your tongue i.e. guard him and watch over him, and let him not leave him, nothing but what will benefit you. Or (the meaning of these words):
Keep your tongue from what does not concern you.
The tongue was singled out among other organs, because all organs obey it, if it is correct, then all other organs will be in order, if it is bent, then all organs will be bent.
▪️ do what you know from the provisions of religion. That is, do what you know to be true, from what will benefit you in the worldly life and in the Hereafter.
▪️ Leave what you condemn from what people do that is contrary to Sharia, and look with your heart at how Allah manages them.
◻️ Truly, He distributed good moral qualities among people, as well as distributed their food (property) among them, and if He wished, He would have created them in one image and likeness. And therefore, be vigilant to how the Almighty governs between them, and if you see disobedience to Allah, which He took away from you, then give praise to Allah.
◻️ Softly, with patience and calmness, call for the good and keep from the blameworthy, and if they accept instruction from you, then give praise to Allah, and if you do not do this, then ask His forgiveness for this omission “(Lukman said to his son : “) And patiently endure everything that befalls you. Indeed, in these matters (in matters of patience because of the difficulties that befall you on the path of Tawheed and Sunnah and the call to them), you must show determination (you must not give up and lose heart) ”(Sura Luqman 31:17)”.
▪️ “take care of yourself first”, do what concerns you and stick to your religion (seek knowledge, knowledge before words and deeds), leave people and do not follow them.
▪️ leaving the general affairs, i.e. leave all people. And if it is most likely that your censure will not change the censure because it has embraced everyone, or because of the dominance of the one doing this censure, or you are afraid for yourself, then you are one of those who can leave the change of the censure, and expressing the censure only with the heart!
◻️ And this is the relief in the obligatory change of what is blamed at times when the number of the worst people will increase and the number of the pious will decrease !
