Forgiving injustice

Hasan al-Basri once turned to Allah with the following prayer:

“O Allah, forgive the one who has treated me unjustly . ” He often turned to Allah with this prayer, which is why one man asked him:

“O Abu Said, I heard how you made du’aa one night for someone who did wrong with you, from which I myself wanted to be in the place of the one who did wrong with you, so what prompted you to do it?”

To which he replied: “The words of Allah:
“ If anyone forgives and establishes peace, then his reward will be with Allah ”
[Quran 42:40]
