Allah’s replacement is better
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Whatever you leave for the sake of Allah Almighty, He will surely replace it for you with something that is better!”
Ahmad 5/363. as-Sahih al-musnad” (1523).
Sheikh Abdur-Rahman as-Sa’di رحمه الله said:
“ If someone leaves something for the sake of Allah, to which his soul has an inclination, then Allah will compensate for this with something that is better both in this world and the Eternal .
Whoever leaves sins for the sake of Allah, to which the soul is craving, Allah will grant him iman (faith) in his heart, space in his chest, grace (barakat) in his food and health in his body, not to mention the reward that impossible to describe.
Only Allah alone is sought for help.”
See Qawa’idu al-Fiqhiya, p. 52
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“ It is difficult to give up habitual or change your habits only to those who do it not for the sake of Allah.
As for the one who leaves all this for the sake of Allah with sincerity, with a pure heart, then he does not find any difficulty in giving up these things.
Only in the first moment does he feel the difficulty. This is necessary in order to test him: is he truthful in refusing it or is he lying? If a person shows patience and overcomes this first short-term difficulty, then pleasure comes to replace it.
Ibn Sirin رحمه الله said:
“I heard Shuraikh swore by Allah that no person who gives up something for the sake of Allah yearns for what he left behind.”
And the words “ Whoever gave up something for the sake of Allah , He will certainly compensate with something better ” is true. And compensation can be very different.
THE BEST REFUND is a feeling of closeness to Allah, love for Him, peace in the heart, the cause of which is He, the strength of the heart, its activity, joy and contentment with the Almighty Lord.
