Next Forgotten Sunnah – Obtaining and Recording Shariah Knowledge

And the requirement of knowledge is one of those sunnahs that people really treat negligently.

Demanding knowledge does not mean being a member of some group in which some hadiths are sometimes thrown off.

Demanding knowledge does not mean being subscribed to some page where there are some benefits, translations of hadiths, or posting 5-6 files there for a one-minute answer, questions, etc. This is a reminder, but not complete knowledge

No, to demand knowledge is precisely to go through books, from cover to cover. I went through one book from cover to cover, I went through the second book – this is how knowledge is required.

The Messenger of Allah said:
The demand for knowledge is a duty for every Muslim!”
”Sahih al-Jami’” 3913

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever makes his way, demanding knowledge on it, Allah Almighty makes it easy for him to go to Paradise.” This hadith was narrated by Imam Muslim.

And we know that in another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Fire is hidden behind passions, and Paradise is behind the hateful.”
Bukhari (6487) and Muslim (2823).

Accordingly, the demand for knowledge is not an easy thing, which requires a lot of effort and diligence from a person.

The imams of our Ummah said: “A wise scholar is one who writes down the best of what he hears, memorizes the best of what he writes down, and recites the best of what he has learned.”
See Tuhfatu Talibil-‘ilm 159.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Reinforce knowledge by writing it down.”
. See Sahih al-Jami’ as-Saghir 4434.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Indeed, knowledge is acquired by study.” Hadith is good.
See Sahih al-Jami’ as-Saghir 2328.

Allah Almighty said: “And say:” My Lord, increase me knowledge “” (Ta ha, 114).

Hafiz Ibn Hajar said: “This verse contains an indication of the dignity of knowledge, for Allah did not command His prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to ask to add anything other than knowledge! And by “knowledge” is meant Sharia knowledge.”
See Fathul Bari (1/141).
