Peace of mind when arriving late for prayer

Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said:

“ When they give ikamah for prayer, go (to prayer). And you must (walk) calmly (in other versions “and with dignity”), slowly. What you find (from the collective prayer) – pray, and what you miss – add . ”

Bukhari 908 (2/501) and Muslim 1358 (3/100).

Says Sheikh Salih al-Fawzan (may Allah bless him): “O Muslim, indeed, you desperately need to know the Sharia norms (“ adabs ”) preceding prayer in order to prepare for it. Because prayer is great worship, which must be preceded by preparation and preparation for the Muslim to begin this worship in the best possible way.

And when you go to the mosque to perform collective prayer with Muslims, let it be in a calm and dignified manner.

Calmness (in ar. “As-sakina”) is measured, unhurried walking.

Worthy (in ar. “Al-uakar”) – that is, seriously, softly, lowering his gaze, lowering his voice, with few turns (in different directions) . ”
