A woman’s righteousness or wickedness affects her husband

Hasan al-Basri said, “A woman’s righteousness and her wickedness affect her husband .

Hasan al-Basri says (may Allah have mercy on him): “In Mecca, I stopped near a buzzaz (a cloth merchant) to buy clothes from him, suddenly he began to praise (her) and swear, and I left him, saying:“ One should not buy from the like, ”and I purchased from another.

After that, I made the Hajj, two years later, and stopped again near him, and did not hear him praise or swear, and I said: “Aren’t you the man I stood next to several years ago?”

He said, “Yes.” I said, “What brings you to the state in which I see you? I don’t see you praising (your products) and swearing (because of them)! ”

He said: “I had a wife, and when I came to her with a small (income), she considered it insignificant (and despised him), and if I came with a large (profit), she considered it small, and then Allah killed her.

And I married another woman after her, and when I wanted to go to the market, she grabbed my clothes and then said:
“Oh so-and-so, fear Allah and feed us only fine (permitted food) if you bring a small profit, we will consider it big, and if you come with nothing, we will help you with our spinning wheel. ”
